They say it can run CS: Source at good quality, but before I spend that kind of money, I just want to make sure. Also, how could would this graphics card work on the following games?
CounterStrike Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Bioshock
Call of Duty 4
Thank you!|||>CounterStrike Source
>Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Reasonably well. It will chug at at higher resolutions though, so graphics won't be pretty.
>Bioshock
Bioshock is a lot more graphically intensive than HL2 games because it uses a lot of water refraction effects in the game levels. It'll probably run like a 3 legged dog unless you play on very low resolutions.
>Call of Duty 4
Should be fine at low resolutions.

Jaton PCI video problem?
I have a new card and cant get my pc to recognize it. I am not "green" when it comes to pc's but this one has me stumped.|||Bill,,you may have already tried this...
Take it Out,,then re-install it.
Also,try it in a different PCI slot
You might have to disable onboard graphics in your Bios setup
Good Luck|||Is it pci , agp?
CMOS change your settings from onboard video to PCI or whatever.
Make sure the video card is working. Usually by putting it in another machine.
Is it making a beeping sound? if it is then your card doesn't work.

JATON Video-228PCI-Twin GeForce FX 5200 128MB 64-bit DDR PCI Video Card?

Computer PCI old video card question?
I have an old 66 MGHZ computer that I wanted to get rid of. I pulled a video card from it where on the back it reads: JATON VCS38261PCI.
The main chip on the front reads: S3 VIRGE/GX
My question is: Is this card worth any money?|||probably not. video cards are one of the fastest growing technology in computers. agp cards has twice the processing power of your pci and pci-e has twice more than the agp. and seeing that it is fitted on an old 66 Mhz computer, it probably carries 16-32 Mb of video ram only. todays vga's have 256 - 600+MB.|||It probably wouldn't be worth too much. That video card is quite old.

What brand of Video card should I get? Jaton or PNY?
I have an IBM low profile case, so my choices are limited to a low profile pci-express card. I've looked at a couple of different cards on newegg.com, a Jaton PX8400GS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

JATON Video-PX628GS-LP1 GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express x1 Low Profile Ready Video Card?
I want to play Team Fortress Two on my computer. I need a graphics card with directX9. Two Questions, One- Will the "JATON Video-PX628GS-LP1 GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express x1 Low Profile Ready Video Card" run Team Fortress Two? It has Directx10 but only 512mb! Secondly- Will this "JATON Video-PX628GS-LP1 GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express x1 Low Profile Ready Video Card" run with a computer that only deals out 240 watts? Thank you|||The amount of memory on a graphics card is NOT a measure of it's performance! The card MODEL is what matters, not the RAM. A 512mb GeForce GTS 250 is more than quadruple the speed a 1gb GeForce GT220.
Having 1gb of video RAM only helps performance when running at resolutions of 1920x1080 or higher. If your monitor resolution is 1680x1050, 1440x900, 1280x1024 etc. there's no difference between 512mb and 1gb versions of the same card.
As to your specific question, the 8400GS a terrible card you'll want to avoid. It's less than 1/3 the speed of a GeForce GT220.
http://www.techspot.com/review/244-ati-r…
Over 95% of today's computer's have a PCI-E x16 slot. So you probably need a PCI-E x16 card, not a PCI-E x1 card. If your computer is a slimline/small form factor model, then you'll want a low-profile PCI-E x16 card. While some motherboards do exist which don't have a PCI-E x16 slot, those are very rare. Older motherboards from 2004 and earlier often have the older AGP slot instead of PCI-E x16.
http://www.playtool.com/pages/vidslots/s…
The 8400GS draws very little power so the 240W psu isn't an problem. But there are much better low-power options like the Radeon HD 6450 and GeForce GT 220 (now replaced by the GT 520). Either of those cards would handle Team Fortress 2.

The 8400GS draws very little power so the 240W psu isn't an problem. But there are much better low-power options like the Radeon HD 6450 and GeForce GT 220 (now replaced by the GT 520). Either of those cards would handle Team Fortress 2.

Are JATON video cards a good?
I'm looking into buying a JATON video card for my first computer build, therefore I don't know any of the "good" manufacturers and I was wondering if these cards are generally reliable, good for their price and what your overall experience with them is.
Thanks!|||No they are not good at all. Very poor quality. I wouldn't touch one.
Consider a Radeon HD 6870 or 5870. And you'll need a good high quality Power Supply Unit (about 600-700 watts), to run a good card. But avoid Jaton.|||There considered the low end...of the low end cards! I have used them to replace "on board" graphics in the lower AGP slot mother boards but you wont find one higher than the HD 4000 series in a PCIe x16 slot. they work..in a pinch..but that's about all.

Only $52.99 after rebate.
Its 2x times faster than 8600GT and 5x times faster than 8400GS.|||number 3. GeForce 8400 512MB|||The 8600 is newer but the 8400 GS 512mb has more memmory, personally I would go with the Evga Geforce 8600|||The first one is the best in quality, and speed.
The third one has more RAM on it, so it can handle up to higher gaming specs, but for now most games only need 256 MB which all have, so go with the first one :]|||Some good Video Cards under 50 bucks....
BFG Tech GeForce 8600 GTS - $49.99
This graphics card may not have the biggest numbers of the bunch, but that is mitigated by the fact that it is durable, reliable, balanced, and is manufactured by a company that is legendary for their support, iron-clad warranties, and overclockability (if that's even a word). It is also one of the only cards in its price range that features GDDR3 over GDDR2, making it an incredible value. I'd recommend this card to anyone looking for an inexpensive upgrade over their on-board video or older card and that wants to do some mid-settings 3D gaming and image editing.
Spec's and Features:
* PCI-Express x16
* 256MB VRAM
* 128-bit Interface
* GDDR3 VRAM
* 710MHz core clock
* 2000MHz memory clock
* 2560x1600 max resolution
* Supports DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.0
* HDTV/S-Video out
* SLI Ready
ASUS GeForce 7300 GT - $47.99
Despite being from a much older series of Nvidia cards (that lacks DX10 support), this card has some very notable features that earned it its spot on this list. It posesses an above-average VRAM amount, particularly for the price, as well as a 128-bit interface. It is also SLI-capable. The only thing stopping it from being truely amazing is that it has lower clock speeds and uses GDDR2 instead of GDDR3. This, however, is consistent with most cards in the price bracket. All in all, it is a great value. Ideal for low-end 3D gaming and image editing.
Spec's and Features:
* PCI-Express x16
* 512MB VRAM
* 128-bit interaface
* GDDR2 VRAM
* 400MHz core clock
* 800MHz memory clock
* 2560x1600 max resolution
* Supports DirectX 9 and OpenGL 2.0
* Silent fanless heat management design
* HDTV Out
* SLI Ready
* $10 mail-in rebate
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3450 - $36.99
This little card packs a tremendous value. With tons of video-memory, it is perfect for the average user that wants to get into image and photo editing without worrying about bogging their computer down. It is also said to be capable of tremendous overclocking, possibly making it a candidate for some mild 3D gaming. It is the perfect solution for replacing slow on-board video without spending too much money. Across the board, users agree it is the best card for its price. It also features the newer PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface and can be configured with Crossfire.
* PCI-Express 2.0 x16
* 512MB VRAM
* 64-bit interface
* GDDR2 VRAM

* Supports DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 2.0
* Silent fanless heat management design
* HDTV Out
* Crossfire Ready
GIGABYTE Radeon HD 2400XT - $24.99
There are two things that really impressed me about this card. The first was its price, and the second was the high clock speeds (see below). Whoa! For this "class" of cards those speeds are impressive. You can't go wrong for $25 bucks. If you count the $10 mail-in rebate then it's really mind boggling. All in all an impressive little card that supports DX10. Perfect for someone looking to replace their on-board graphics with something that has a little extra "oomph".

I need help with a video card?
I have a '98 hp and i just bought a Jaton video-280PCI for my Flight Simulator 2004. But I don't know which port to plug the card in. I tryed all ports but every time i go to install it it reads me an error. If some one can please help. Thanks|||you most probably have AGP look for the longest rectangle shaped port on the motherboard, that is where it will plug into.|||Maybe because you are using a 10years old outdated operating system??|||since it is a pci card you will have to go into the bios and disable the on board video chip ( and on some dell and other mobo you can not disable this and can not install a video card)
Will a low profile video card fit into my hp pavillion slimline s7320n?
I am currently interested in purchasing a JATON Video-PX8400GS_EX GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Low Profile Video Card for my Hp Pavillion Slimline s7320n. Will this graphics card work and fit in my pc?|||low pro cards usually come with the standard slot that you can swap out.
the card itself will fit, the slot covering that you screw it into the case might be a problem, so see if the box comes with the standard slot.|||also be careful of the power of the card... its a pain getting a new powersupply for a slimline.
